I was a member of Hopewell for 11 years and fell on hard times. I called the church asking for help and without questioning my member status I was immediately brushed off and were told to contact the Norcross Ministry Cooperative Center. I was hurt because I put a lot of money into Hopewell; paying my offering and tithes regularly. Then when I contacted someone in the church personally she gave me their benevolence hotline and I left a message. They responded 3 weeks later and asked if I participated in any ministries, I didn’t think that should make a difference. They could look me up and see if I was a member and look at my offering and tithes statement. “Papa” is a great pastor, I love the atmosphere of Hopewell but just a little disappointed that if you are not involved in any ministries they really could care less. Now that I’m back on my feet I’m looking for a church home. Something smaller where I can serve and live out my purpose for God. So long Hopewell, no more mega churches for me.
